Our FAQ's
Why are you doing a 'soft launch'? We're starting small with part-time hours while Ryan balances other commitments. This soft launch lets us support our community without overextending. As demand grows, so will our availability.
Why did Ryan leave & is he still traveling? When the prior business changed hands, Ryans' role shifted to a full-time travel position that left no availability for local support. However, Ryan has always been committed to his work and is no longer traveling full-time. He's excited to reconnect with the local community through D20!
Is D20 Technical Services a new business? Yes! D20 is a brand-new, independently run local business.
What kinds of things do you fix? From hardware repairs and system upgrades to network troubleshooting and WiFi optimization, we handle most home and small business tech needs. You can see our full service list on the services page.
Can I just drop off my computer? No appointment is needed for in-house repairs. Just reach out to coordinate a drop-off time and we’ll take care of the rest.
Do I have to book online? Not at all! If you're uncomfortable with the online booking system, give us a call, text or email. We'll reach out to schedule a service!
What’s your reclaim policy? All reclaim systems are sold with a 30 day limited warranty. Each one goes through refurbishing and testing before resale. These systems are great for the basic computer user and for every day tasks. For more information on our reclaim policy, please see part 1c of our warranty policy.
Any plans to have a store front in the future? Not at this time. That may change as the company grows!
Do you sell accessories, printers, or parts? We don’t carry retail stock or run a storefront, so we don’t sell items like keyboards, mice, or printers. That said, we can order parts or components as needed for repairs or custom builds and we’re always happy to offer advice if you’re shopping on your own.
What happens if my issue isn't resolved? Your satisfaction is important to us. If a repair doesn’t fully resolve the problem, please reach out so we can re-assess the situation and determine the next steps.
Do you only service personal computers? We’re happy to work with both residential and small business clients. Whether it’s a home computer or office network troubleshooting, we’ve got you covered.
Can you recover lost data or photos? In many cases, yes — we can attempt to recover data from damaged, deleted, or corrupted drives. However, data recovery is never guaranteed, and success depends on the condition of the device. We'll always be upfront about your options and do everything we can before referring you elsewhere if needed.
Why is Ryan only available on evenings and weekends? Right now, Ryan is balancing this business with other commitments, but we're working toward expanding our hours. Evening and weekend appointments allow us to offer support while keeping things manageable during the startup phase.
Is Ryan back in Stettler and offering tech support again? Yes! After several years of working in a travel-based tech role, Ryan is now based locally in Stettler again and offering part-time IT services through D20 Tech. Many prior customers have already reached out and he’s glad to be helping the community again on his own terms.
How do I pay? We accept e-transfer, Visa/Mastercard/debit, and cash. For remote support, prepayment is required. On-site and in-house repairs are billed based on service type.
Do you offer support outside of Stettler? Absolutely! We offer remote support for clients anywhere and on-site service for surrounding communities whenever possible.
Is there a warranty on your work? Yes! We stand behind our repairs with a limited warranty on parts and labor. You can learn more about it on our home page under 'Warranty Policy'
What's a 'reclaim' computer? A reclaim is a computer that was previously dropped off for recycling or disposal, but still had usable hardware. We refurbish these systems by securely wiping all data and replacing or repairing parts as needed — and offer them for resale at an affordable price.
Why do you offer reclaimed computers? Reclaims aren’t just about resale, they’re about reducing electronic waste, promoting sustainability, and making technology more accessible. We believe tech should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford brand-new systems. Giving older hardware a second life keeps it out of landfills and puts it back into the hands of people who need it.
Do you sell computers or custom builds? While we don’t stock prebuilt systems, we do offer custom system builds and computer sourcing by request. If you're looking for a new system, we can help price out a setup that fits your needs and handle everything from ordering to setup, even if you bring your own parts. If we’re ordering parts on your behalf, prepayment for components is required before we place the order.
What is the typical turnaround time for repairs? While turnaround times vary depending on the issue, we always strive to complete repairs as quickly as possible. We’ll provide you with an estimated timeline after diagnosing your system.
Can I get emergency or after-hours support? Ryan is currently available for appointments on evenings and weekends. If you have an urgent issue outside regular hours, contact us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Do you fix phones or tablets? Unfortunately we don't. However, we can direct you to a fellow local business: Stettler Mobile Solutions
Do you buy used computers and devices? Sorry no. We don’t purchase used devices, If you have a used system you would like to dispose of, we do accept eligible systems for reclaim and recycling. We’re happy to take a look and let you know if it can be reused or refurbished.
Do you offer payment plans? At this time, we do not offer payment plans. All services must be paid in full at the time of completion (or in advance for remote or special-order work).
